چکیده
Objective: Oxidation is a normal process in many biological metabolisms living beings, but this technology era radiation, pollution, irregular life style, and unhealthy diet leads to excessive oxidation resulting imbalance between antioxidants free radicals body called oxidative stress, which may result cardiac problems, diabetes, carcinogenic diseases. Therefore, exploration of natural flora fauna becoming important. In motive phytochemical study was taken up on various parts Pterocarpus santalinus L.f. plant belonging Leguminosae family check the presence antioxidant activity (AA).
Methods: The leaves, flowers, fruits, roots were extracted with six different organic solvents from polar non-polar. To estimate AA these extracts, four types tests done them, namely, α, α – Diphenyl β Picryl - Hydrazyl radical scavenging (DPPH RSA) assay, relative reducing power (RRP) Ferric thiocyanate (FTC) carotene bleaching assay Butylated Hydroxy Toluene (BHT) as synthetic standard.
Results: extraction, Me extracts showed highest yields. Qualitative screening has revealed bioactive components Et majorly. DPPH RSA leaves almost equal reference standard. RRP floral higher than FTC Carotene assays that sample possess good BHT. lower absorption values specify high AA, whereas indicate extracts.
Conclusion: Among methanol extraction efficiency also number phytochemicals its extracts. These all parts, is., roots, flowers better compared other solvent
